When founding Trifecta, our CEO Dave Young, brought many of the disciplines he learned as a theater actor into the fabric of our company. The belief that everyone has an important role to play. The need for total teamwork and collaboration between each role to keep things moving forward. And the confidence of knowing that any obstacle, big or small, can be solved quickly with a little creativity. Trifecta is now a global leader in clinical trial training. More than a decade ago, we opened the curtain within the industry to the concept of online investigator training. And when we did, we pioneered the ability for investigators to train on their own time.
In the years since then, we have perfected a host of solutions that fully integrate the process of clinical trial training and communication, from start up to close out. Every step, every document, every point of communication is now streamlined into a single platform, making investigator training and communication quicker, easier and less expensive.
We have grown into a world-wide investigator training system and are currently in use in 87 countries, on studies ranging in size from two sites to more than 1,800. From Online training to Live meetings to Web-Based training, we partner with leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organizations to conduct hundreds of clinical trials every year.

Dave Young Chief Executive Officer
Meet Dave. Actor, Director, Chief Executive and Founder.
While Dave actually is a formally trained actor, today he spends more time directing as our CEO and founder. From writing the script to casting a team to deliver dramatic results, Dave has built Trifecta into the exciting production it is today. Dave has nearly two decades of experience in technology development, implementation and multimedia production. He has focused exclusively on innovation in the clinical development space for more than a decade. Maybe it’s a result of his “the show must go on” mentality from his theater days, but with Dave at the helm fostering the spirit of risk taking and creativity that defines Trifecta, there isn’t a problem we can’t solve for our clients. Dave’s favorite word is pusillanimous. Which is funny, because it means showing a lack of courage and determination or being timid, basically making it his antonym.
Ericka Atkinson: Vice President of Delivery Operations

Ericka is the master of operations at Trifecta and is extraordinarily talented in all of the delivery and operations activities that cross her desk each day. Such as product evaluation. Sales. Proposals. Contracts. Business Development. Account Management. And the list goes on. Ericka has worn many hats here at Trifecta, and she has turned heads in each and every one of them. Consistently delivering the best end product and the greatest levels of success, while constantly setting the bar higher and higher for the rest of us. She has an in depth understanding of each and every aspect of the business, and it makes her a powerhouse of an operations executive. When she’s not making us all better people, both personally and professionally, Ericka loves to horse around, literally, with her daughter who is working to become a member of the U.S. Equestrian Team. Ericka’s favorite color is red; she loves it for both its power and strength. Funny, that’s exactly why we love her.
Rick Ward Vice President of Commercial Operations
Meet Rick. Mentor. Leader. Teacher. And a Great Coach.
Rick has played at many key positions over the course of his life and career. At Trifecta, he is our head coach of the commercial operations, leading us to victory, as defined by exceeding client expectations each and every day. A graduate of Penn State, Rick has been creating success across the board for CRO’s, outsourced services, patient recruitment, clinical trials and post marketing studies. His many accomplishments include his role in growing Greenphire from a company of sixteen employees with less than a million in sales to a company of 120 with more than $25 million in sales. Rick has a passion for fostering growth potential, both in businesses and people. An avid youth sports coach and a professional mentor, he is most inspired by being able to share a vision and see it come to life and is most gratified seeing others on the team achieve success. Rick is a master at building relationships and trust. He is a true teammate through and through. And if you ever want someone share a long bike ride or a good bottle of red wine, Rick is your guy.
